Login in Moodle Exam for Guests and Applicants
Dear Applicant and Guest of the Technische Universität Darmstadt,
if you have been invited to use Moodle Exam of TUDa, then you have been sent your login credentials to the email address you provided as a way to contact you.
If you´re not sure that you received this email, please have a look in the spam folders.
Should the email really have gone lost, please try the password recovery as described later in this article.
If you had already applied at TUDa before this term your login usually still exists.
First go to: Moodle Exam TUDa. In the upper right corner you can select select German or English as the language to display Moodle Exam in. Next to this function you will find the login button.

Please use the login mask "Login für Bewerbenede - Login for Applicants". The first line asks for your user name, which is your contact email address. The second line is the password. You will likely be asked to change it after your first login. Make sure to use a password you will remember! Finally, use the login button to be directed to the Moodle Exam Dashboard.

Finding the correct course
After logging in you will be directed to the Dashboard. You will find your entrance exam course in the "Course overview". If you are applying for the first time, and have only applied to one program, you will only see one course. If you have applied for multiple programs, there will also be multiple courses. If you have already applied for past terms, you will also see courses from these terms which are no longer active. Make sure you are using the current course by checking the date in the name of the course.
Contents of the entrance exam course
In the course, you will find everything you need in order to prepare for the entrance exam. At the time of the exam, you will also find it within the course.
Proctoring Software: SMOWL
SMOWL is a standard Proctoring Software at TUDa. If you decide to take a remotely proctored exam at TUDa (or you decide against an on-site exam), you need to make yourself familiar with SMOWL.
Your first task is to read the terms of use for SMOWL. You need to accept them in the Moodle course in which your entrance exam is held.
The exams regulations are given in the according moodle course.
Also general information such as how the exam is designed and so on are given in the exam course or in the official websites of the departments. This is independant from the software.
Have a look in the manual of SMOWL
The preparation of a remote supervised exam is described in this article: preparation of exams with SMOWL
Troubleshooting is also prepared. It is an good idea to save the homepage as a file or as a printout. Troubleshooting for remote supervised SMOWL Exams
Last but not least have technical demo exams. Those are linked in the according moodle exam course.
